WRW Celebrates 25 years of Excellence
WRW Group has got its 25th anniversary celebrations off to a flying start by winning several prestigious awards to add to its impressive portfolio.
The building industry’s Oscars is the pinnacle of a hugely successful award-winning year for WRW Construction and heralds a new dawn for the family-run business. Founded by Chairman Robert Williams and his wife Debbie 25 years ago, the company has its routes embedded in West Wales and has witnessed significant growth to become one of the leading construction companies in Wales with many high profile and award-winning projects to its credit.
It’s latest success is the Discovery Centre at Margam Park which has been named the Welsh local authority Building Of The Year, and also includes Excellence Awards for the hugely successful Ffoslas Racecourse, a new school in Peniel, near Carmarthen, a housing development in Abercrave in the Upper Swansea Valley, and The Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff
These awards follow previous accolades for flagship projects such as the Llanelli Coastal Park’s £30million Machynys Golf Club and Pentre Nicklaus Village; the £4million redevelopment of Gwersyll Yr Urdd, Llangrannog; the state-of-the-art multi media auditorium in The National Library of Wales; and the new headquarters and integrated training and childcare facilities for Mudiad Ysgol Meithrin in Aberystwyth.
“As a company we are delighted to win these accolades which confirm our status as a company excelling within a very competitive industry. We were up against strong opposition in all categories, in some cases against major national companies, so these awards are a tribute to the quality and commitment of the staff, “ said Chairman Robert Williams.
WRW, which has its headquarters in Goring Road, Llanelli, has won major contracts all over mid and south Wales, from Pembroke to Aberystwyth, Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Maesteg, and Powys, and in all sectors – education, health, leisure, residential, commercial and industrial construction. The Group is shortly to venture into North Wales as well, having just been chosen as a preferred contractor to the newly formed Undod housing consortium in Gwynedd and Clwyd.
“ We can now be recognised within the industry as a truly national company, but at the same time we will not lose our local identity,” he added.
The company is proud that WRW Construction’s success has been built on its traditional values with high levels of excellence and professionalism based on the family approach to Welsh culture, ethics, and integrity. The Group’s passion and commitment to the area is proudly demonstrated across the Scarlets jersey, with the company being the rugby team’s main sponsor.
